his two-year career, Frick batted .336 (156-for-464) with 38 home runs

first season with the Crimson Tide, he hit .331 with 16 home runs and
55 RBI... As a junior, he led the SEC with a .998 fielding

Brown (1999-2002)

A four-year letterman, Brown was the winner of the 2002 Johnny Bench
Award, presented annually by the Greater Wichita (Kansas) Sports
Commission to best catcher in college baseball... Brown was the
Crimson Tide’s starting catcher in 2001 and 2002 after playing his
first two years at first base... The Hueytown, Ala., native batted
.337 (307-for-910) in his career with 46 home runs and 230 RBI... A
2002 first-round draft selection by the Oakland Athletics, Brown is
the school’s all-time leader in games played (251), starts (251), runs
scored (244), RBI (231), walks (207) and putouts (1,660)... In
addition, he is the only player in SEC history with 300 career hits
and 200 career walks... Member of two SEC Tournament Championship
teams... Also played in the 1999 College World Series... Also named
2002 District III Player of the Year by the NCBWA. |

Norris (1995-96)

Norris was the starting catcher on Wells first two Alabama
teams in 1995-96... A First-Team Super Smith All-America pick in 1996,
Norris finished his career with a .329 (177-for-538) batting average
with nine home runs and 83 RBI... As a senior (1996), Norris batted
.370 (105-for-284) with six home runs and 49 RBI... Norris’ 105 hits
in 1996 are the third-most by an Alabama player in school history...
Member of two straight SEC Tournament Championship teams (1995-96)...
Played in 1996 NCAA South I Regional... Led UA to 1996 College World
Series, its first appearance since the 1983 season... First-Team

triples (10), home runs (37) and RBI (181)... Alabama’s single-season

The Crimson Tide’s starting second baseman for three years...
In his career, Bozanich batted .333 (258-for-775) with 29 home runs
and 148 RBI... 1998 Collegiate Baseball Freshman All-American...
Batted .333 (75-for-225) as a rookie with three home runs and 28
RBI... Led UA with 17 doubles, becoming first freshman to pace the
club in two-base hits since David Magadan recorded 20 doubles in
1981... As a sophomore, Sam batted .308 (85-for-276) with eight
homers, 57 RBI and 19 doubles... Named to 1999 NCAA Regional
All-Tournament team... Hit safely in all four games at 1999 CWS,
including game-winning RBI against Rice... As a junior, Bozanich
batted .356 (98-for-275) with 20 doubles, 18 home runs and 83 RBI...
He led the team in home runs and RBI and fell one hit short of the
team lead in hitting, which would have made him the Crimson Tide’s
first triple crown winner since 1993... Bozanich set Alabama
single-season record for second basemen with 18 home runs and 83

Phillips (1996-99)

Perhaps the most decorated player in the history of Alabama
baseball... Played in 224 career games for the Crimson Tide and batted
.356 (322-for-904) with 61 home runs and 226 RBI... Alabama’s all-time
leader in hits (322), home runs (61), and total bases (590)... In
addition, Phillips ranked second in career doubles (63) and triples
(11) and third in assists (537) and 10th in walks (86)... As a senior,
Phillips batted .398 (103-for-259) with 22 home runs and 66 RBI... A
First-Team All-America selection, Phillips was named to NCBWA Super
All-American squad... A finalist for the Dick Howser Trophy, Phillips
was also named the NCBWA District III Player of the Year... He was
also tabbed First-Team All-American by College Baseball Insider and a
Third-Team All-America pick by Baseball America, Collegiate Baseball
and the ABCA... In addition, he set Alabama single-season records for
total bases (203) and set UA records for home runs (22) and RBI (66)
by a shortstop... He also tied the school record for most home runs by
a senior... Posted an SEC record 36-game hitting streak during his
senior year... The Demopolis native batted .366 with 15 home runs and
65 RBI as a sophomore and hit .351 with 11 homers and 82 RBI as a

Boyd (1999-2002)

A four-year starter, Boyd appeared in 243 games at Alabama,
making 235 career starts... The Fort Worth, Texas native started at
six different positions for Alabama, including left field (1),
shortstop (1), DH (8), third base (98), second base (101) and first
base (25)... He compiled a .326 (314-for-964) career batting average
with 38 home runs and 196 RBI... He also amassed 499 total bases for a
.518 career slugging percentage... Boyd is one of four UA players with
300 or more career hits... He holds Alabama career record for most
at-bats (964) and sacrifice flies (14)... Boyd is one of several UA
players to record two sacrifice flies in a single-game... In addition
to his career records, Boyd also ranks among the school’s all-time
leaders in games played (243), runs scored (233), hits (314), doubles
(63), home runs (38), RBI (196), total bases (499) and career assists
(454)... As a senior, Boyd batted .287 with eight home runs and 51
RBI... He was named the 2002 SEC Tournament MVP after hitting .500
(10-for-20) with eight runs scored, two doubles, one home runs and
three RBI... He hit safely in all five SEC Tourney games for the Tide. |

A three-year starter for the Crimson Tide, Keller was a
member of two College World Series teams at the Capstone... He wrapped
up his 201-game career by hitting .381 with 50 home runs and 202
RBI... Keller’s 50 home runs ranks second all-time at the Capstone...
Only player in SEC history with 50 home runs and 50 stolen bases...
Also added 43 career doubles, 12 triples and 90 walks for the Tide...
As a senior, Keller batted .396 with 15 home runs and 72 RBI... He
scored 85 runs and added 15 doubles and four triples... He helped
Alabama to the SEC Tournament Championship, where he was named the
Most Valuable Player... In addition, Keller helped the Crimson Tide to
the NCAA Regional and Super Regional championship as well as berth in
the 1999 College World Series... He was a first-team All-America pick
by College Baseball Insider... Named First-Team All-SEC and First-Team
All South Region pick by the ABCA... As a junior, Keller batted .377
with 14 home runs and 62 RBI... He hit an Alabama record three home
runs in a 27-0 win over Niagara in 1998... In his first season with
the Tide, Keller batted .369 with 21 homers and 68 RBI... He was one
of an NCAA record four Alabama players to hit 20 or more home runs in
1997... The Crimson Tide hit 160 homers that year, second to LSU and
third all-time in NCAA history... He was named to the 1997 NCAA South
II Regional All-Tournament team, where he recorded two outfield
assists in the championship game win over Southern Cal... Also named
to the 1997 CWS All-Tournament squad. |

Mohr (1995-1997)

As a junior, Mohr hit .337 with a career best 25 home runs and 79
RBI... The 25 homers led the Alabama team... Mohr was one of an NCAA
record four UA players to his 20+ home runs in 1997 as the Crimson
Tide set the school record with 160 four-baggers in that record
setting year... The 160 home runs rank third all-time in NCAA
history... 1997 South I Regional All-Tournament Team selection... In
the four games, he batted .375 with two home runs and five RBI...
Named to 1997 SEC All-Tournament team... Mohr helped Alabama win the
NCAA national championship with a .621 slugging percentage in 1997,
the highest mark in school history... In addition, the slugging mark
was the second highest total in NCAA history... The Tide also led the
nation in runs scored and total hits in 1997... In his sophomore
season, Mohr batted .306 with 10 home run and 52 RBI for the Crimson
Tide... He was second on the team in run scored (52) and RBI... 1996
SEC All-Tournament Team selection... As a freshman, Mohr batted .264
with 12 home runs and 44 RBI... The 12 home runs set the Alabama
single-season record for a freshman... He led UA in homers as a rookie
and third in RBI.... 1995 Freshman All-America selection by Collegiate
Baseball... At the time, Mohr was just the third UA rookie to earn

McClanahan (1999-2002)

A four-year letterman and three-year starter for the Crimson
Tide... McClanahan became a mainstay in the UA outfield and might be
one the best center fielders to ever play for the Tide... Concluded
his career with 125 consecutive starts in center... Member of three
SEC Tournament Championship teams and three NCAA Regional teams... He
was a three-time Academic All-SEC selection and member of the
CoSIDA/Verizon District IV Academic team... In his 227-game career,
McClanahan batted .312 with 24 home runs and 129 RBI... He also added
188 runs scored, 51 doubles and 56 stolen bases to his career
totals... Alabama’s all-time leader with 22 outfield assists... As a
senior, Mac batted .298 with a team-leading 14 home runs and 62 RBI...
He was also 20-for-25 in the stolen base department and added 80 runs
and 22 doubles to his offensive numbers in 2002... He led the SEC with
eight outfield assists as a senior... As a junior, McClanahan hit .341
with four home runs and 35 RBI for the Crimson Tide... Member of the
1999 College World Series team at UA, becoming a second-generation CWS
player (his father Mark played on Auburn’s 1976 CWS team)... Mac’s
first career home run came in the 1999 NCAA Regional against Navy. |

Hearod (2001-03)

A three-year starter at Alabama, Hearod played in 177 games during his
Crimson Tide career... The Jennings, La., native appeared in 177 games
and batted .327 (210-for-643) with 40 home runs and 191 RBI... He also
added 141 runs, 43 doubles, five triples, 383 total bases and a .595
slugging mark... He also wrapped up his UA career with five grand
slams, missing the school and NCAA career record of six grand slams
held by Mike Pitisci in 1984... As a senior, Hearod batted .346
(80-for-231) with 20 home runs and 82 RBI... He ranked ninth
nationally in home runs and 17th nationally with 0.32 home runs per
game...He was sixth in the nation in total RBI and ninth with 1.32 RBI
per game as a senior... In addition, he set the UA single-season
record for most RBI by a senior and outfielder... Hearod also led the
SEC and ranked 27th nationally with a whopping .719 slugging mark...
Alabama career record-holder with 18 sacrifice flies... The First-Team
All-SEC selection led the league in home runs and RBI, becoming the
first Crimson Tide player to lead the SEC in those categories since
1986... Overall, Hearod became the fourth UA player to lead the league
in homers and fourth player to pace the conference in RBI... A
first-team All-America selection by the NCBWA, Hearod was named the
organization’s District III Player of the Year in 2003... A three-time
member of the SEC Academic Honor Roll, Hearod was a second-team
Academic All-American in 2003 and a third-team winner in 2002... As a
junior, Hearod batted .335 with 12 home runs and 54 RBI... In his
first year with the Tide (2001), he batted .295 with eight homers and
55 RBI. |

Garner (2002-03)

A two-year starter for the Crimson Tide in the outfield...
Split time between right and left field as a junior then replaced
Scott McClanahan in center for his senior season... Member of two SEC
Tournament Championship clubs and two NCAA Regional participants... In
his 125-game career, Garner batted .345 with eight home runs and 60
RBI...He also added 121 runs scored, 30 doubles and 45 stolen bases...
Garner was the Crimson Tide’s leading hitter in SEC play each of his
two seasons at the Capstone... As a senior, he led UA with a .365
average and added two home runs and 29 RBI, primarily from the leadoff
spot in the order... Garner also added 64 runs scored, 19 stolen bases
and 15 doubles as a senior... Ranked third in the SEC with a .365
batting clip as a senior... Posted two, 18-game hitting streaks in
2003... Tied the Alabama single-game record with five hits in a 17-16
win over South Alabama... He did not make an error until the next to
the last game of the 2003 season, setting the single-season record for
most errorless games at 57 last year... As a junior, he batted .323
with six home runs and 31 RBI... Alabama’s leading hitter in SEC play. |

Tidwell (1996-97)

A two-year starter in the Crimson Tide outfield... Played on
two College World Series teams... Helped UA to the 1996 SEC
Championship, its first since 1968... Also played on two NCAA Regional
Championship teams and two SEC Tournament championship clubs... In his
career, Tidwell batted .328 (177-for-540) with 15 home runs and 95
RBI... Also a threat on the bases by stealing 62 of 70 base
attempts... Named the 1997 SEC Tournament Most Valuable Player... In
his senior season, Tidwell batted .342 with 10 home runs and 65 RBI...
He also added 86 runs, 35 stolen bases (39 atts) and 18 doubles... He
set the Alabama single-season record with 295 at-bats as a senior...
He also recorded 101 hits in 1997...At the SEC Tourney, Tidwell hit
.522 (12-for-23) with three home runs and 10 RBI as the Tide captured
its third straight post-season crown... He also added 10 runs scored
and six stolen bases... As a junior, he batted .310 with five home
runs and 30 RBI... Swiped 27 of 31 bases... Recorded 23 multiple hit
games... Slugged solo home run against Oklahoma State in UA’s 7-5 win
at the College World Series, the first CWS game in the Wells era...
Named to the South I Regional All-Tournament team and the 1996 Olive
Garden Classic All-Tournament squad. |

Cormier (1999-2002)

One of the top pitchers in Alabama baseball history... He left the
Capstone with a degree in Finance and four career pitching records...
The Crimson Tide’s all-time leader for games pitched (87), wins (30),
strikeouts (289) and innings pitched (384.2)... In those 87 games,
Cormier posted a 30-16 (.652) record with 17 saves and a 3.98 ERA...
Cormier worked 384.2 innings and allowed 393 hits, 170 earned runs,
151 walks and 289 strikeouts... He also started 42 games, logged 12
career complete games and posted six career shutouts for the Tide...
He also ranks among the Alabama career leaders in games started (2nd)
and complete games (7th)... As a senior, Cormier turned in one of the
best years of any Crimson Tide hurler... In 17 starts, he posted an
11-3 (.786) with an SEC-leading six complete games and a 3.28 ERA on
the mound... He worked 129 innings and allowed 135 hits, 47 earned
runs, 27 walks and 85 strikeouts... Became the 16th UA pitcher to win
10 games in a single season... 2002 Third-Team All-American by
NCBWA... 2001 First-Team CoSIDA/Verizon Academic All-American...
Three-time Academic All-SEC... He began his career as a closer and
posted an SEC-leading 11 saves on the Crimson Tide’s 1999 College
World Series team... The 11 saves also established the Alabama rookie
record... 1999 Freshman All-American by Collegiate Baseball... Also a
honorable mention AA pick by Collegiate Baseball... After two-years in
the bullpen, Cormier became a weekend starter in 2001 and fashioned a
9-5 record and a league-leading 2.30 ERA as a junior... Over his final
two seasons, Cormier went 20-8 (.714) on the mound, winning almost
one-quarter of the Tide’s games in 2001 and 2002. |

Vaughn (1999-2001)

In three seasons at Alabama, Vaughn compiled an 8-7 (.533) record and
4.86 ERA in 36 career games... He also made 22 starts for Bama... In
those 36 appearances, Vaughn worked 127.2 innings and allowed 154
hits, 69 earned runs, 54 walks and 67 strikeouts... His best season
with the Crimson Tide came in 2000, where he logged a 7-3 record and
4.50 ERA in 24 games... The right-hander worked 86 innings and allowed
98 hits, 43 runs, 40 walks and 47 strikeouts... He also made 15 starts
and added two complete games... In 1999, Vaughn was the story of the
post-season for Alabama, starting his first career game against the
SEC Champion Arkansas Razorbacks in the SEC Tournament... He pitched
the Crimson Tide to a remarkable 9-3 win with seven solid innings on

A four-year starter for the Crimson Tide, Torres compiled a
21-4 (.820) record and 4.66 ERA in 54 career games for Bama... Also
started 29 games in four-year career... Torres logged 237.2 innings
and allowed 265 hits, 146 runs, 123 earned runs, 64 walks and 211
strikeouts for the Tide... Member of three College World Series
teams... Played on three SEC Tournament championship clubs... Played
in four NCAA Regionals... Member of 1996 SEC Championship team... As a
senior, Torres went 10-3 with a 5.09 ERA and five complete games in 18
games... He also made 17 starts on the Tide’s CWS team... He worked
115 innings and allowed 137 hits, 66 earned runs, 30 walks and fanned
103 batters... He was a 1999 Third-Team All-America selection by the
NCBWA... Also named to the ABCA All-South Region team... Second-Team
All-SEC pick... Set UA senior record with 104 strikeouts... Ranks 5th
with 115 IP as senior in 1999... 3rd on single-season list with 104 Ks
in 1999... As a junior, Torres was 1-0 with a 6.00 ERA in limited
action due to injuries... In 1997, he fashioned a 5-0 record and 5.27
ERA in 13 games for the Crimson Tide’s CWS team... Compiled a 5-1
record and 4.40 ERA as a rookie for Alabama in 17 games... A 1995

Green (1998-2001)

In 51 career games, Green compiled an 18-4 (.818) record and
4.75 ERA for the Tide... In 199 career innings, Green allowed 228
hits, 105 earned runs, 71 walks and struck out 155 batters... Member
of 1999 College World Series team... Played on 1999 SEC Tournament
championship team... His best second came during his freshman season
(1998), where he posted an 8-2 record and 4.59 ERA in 19 appearances
for the Crimson Tide... Also started 13 games... In those 19 games, he
worked 84.1 innings and allowed 97 hits, 43 earned runs, 33 walks and
71 strikeouts... He set the Alabama freshman record for most innings
pitched... Other highlights from his rookie year included 10
strikeouts in an SEC Tournament win over Florida at the Hoover Met and
a win over Loyola-Marymount at the NCAA Regional in Palo Alto... As a
sophomore, Green was 5-1 with a 5.59 ERA... In his senior year, he
went 5-1 with a 4.13 ERA. |

Fisher (1997-98)

A two-year starter on the mound, Fisher compiled a 17-11
(.607) record and 5.17 ERA in 36 career appearances at Bama... Also
logged 34 career starts... His 34 career starts rank 8th all-time at
UA... Logged back-to-back 100 inning seasons for the Tide... The 118.1
innings pitched in 1997 ranks fourth, while the 104.1 innings pitched
in 1998 ranks 10th on the single-season list... As a junior, Fisher
posted a 7-8 record and 5.87 ERA in 1998... He worked 104.1 innings
and allowed 141 hits, 85 runs, 68 earned runs, 32 walks and 92
strikeouts... Led team with three CGs in 1998... In his first season
at Bama, the sophomore posted an impressive 10-3 record and 4.55 ERA
for a team that finished second at the CWS... Fisher logged 118.2
innings and allowed 139 hits, 78 runs, 60 earned runs, 36 walks and 82
strikeouts for the Tide... He won his first seven decisions for the
Crimson Tide as a sophomore (1997)... Tied UA sophomore record with 10

Carter (2002-2005)

One of three current UA players to make the All-Wells team...
In his two-year career, Carter has compiled a 12-5 (.706) record on
the mound and a 3.31 ERA... The Americus, Ga., native has worked 177
innings and allowed 167 hits, 65 earned runs, 29 walks and 156
strikeouts... 2004 Preseason All-America selection by Collegiate
Baseball and Collegebaseballinsider.com... 2004 Preseason All-SEC pick
by SE Baseball.com... As a sophomore (2003), Carter posted a 10-5
record with six complete games and a 3.30 ERA... He worked 122.2
innings and allowed 115 hits, 45 earned runs, 19 walks and 105
strikeouts... He established single-season school records for wins,
innings pitched and strikeouts by a sophomore hurler... Carter was
second in the league in innings pitched and strikeouts and third in
wins... In SEC games, Carter led the league with over 70 innings
worked and six CGs... As a rookie, Carter was 2-0 with two saves and a
3.31 ERA in 17 appearances... He beat North Alabama in his UA debut
and then beat Florida Atlantic in the NCAA Regional, earning

Eilers (1994-97)

A four-year letterman and starter on the mound for the
Crimson Tide... Hampered by injuries during his senior season, but
still put together a most productive career for Alabama... In 58
career games, Eilers compiled a 14-14 (.500) career record and a 4.34
ERA... Also made 42 starts... Worked 273.1 innings and allowed 281
hits, 149 runs, 132 earned runs, 96 walks and 237 strikeouts... Member
of three SEC Tournament Championship teams... Member of 1996 SEC
Championship team... Played on three NCAA Regionals squads... Member
of two CWS teams, including runner up in 1997... As a senior, Eilers
compiled a 1-1 record and a 4.67 ERA in limited action on the mound...
As a junior, he posted a 5-5 record and 4.73 ERA in 16 games on the
mound... Also made 12 starts... Four of his five wins came in SEC
play... His best year came in 1995, where he posted a 6-3 record and
3.48 ERA as a sophomore... In 101 innings, he allowed 90 hits, 47
runs, 39 earned runs, 30 walks and 98 strikeouts for the Tide...

complete game for the Crimson Tide... In 90.1 innings, he allowed 114
hits, 59 earned runs, 47 walks and fanned 97 batters... He ranked
among the SEC leaders in total strikeouts... As a freshman, he went
8-5 with seven saves and a 2.62 ERA for Bama... In 68.2 innings,
Tankersley allowed 55 hits, 20 earned runs, 20 walks and 65
strikeouts... Opponents batted just .224 vs. the lefty... He tied the
UA freshman record with eight wins in 2002... Also named Freshman

Smith (1998-99)

In his two-year career, Smith posted a 13-5 (.722) record and
4.58 ERA for the Crimson Tide... In 32 career games, Smith worked
182.2 innings and allowed 193 hits, 93 earned runs, 70 walks and
struck out 205 batters... His strikeout to walk ration in his two
seasons was nearly three to one... As a senior (1998), Smith posted a
7-1 record and 3.90 ERA in 16 games... He worked a career best 101.2
innings and allowed 107 hits, 44 earned runs, 42 walks and 95
strikeouts... He led UA with 15 games started as a junior... Added two
complete games... As a senior, Smith worked 16 games and compiled a
6-4 record and 5.44 ERA... He worked 81 innings and allowed 86 hits,
49 earned runs, 28 walks and struck out 100 batters... His 100
strikeouts rank 7th on the UA single-season list... An Academic
All-SEC selection (1999). |

Norris (2001-2004)

One of three current UA players to make the All-Wells team...
The fifth year senior is back for his final season with the Crimson
Tide... A weekend starter each of the last two seasons, Norris has
compiled a 12-3 (.800) career record and 4.32 ERA at Alabama... In 34
career games, he has logged 135.1 innings and allowed 165 hits, 65
earned runs, 31 walks and 102 strikeouts... One of only three pitchers
in SEC history to start consecutive SEC Tournament Championship games
against South Carolina (2002) and LSU (2003)... One of only two
pitchers to win back-to-back SEC Tournament Championship games,
beating the Gamecocks and Tigers... As a senior, Norris posted a 6-2
record and 5.32 ERA in 19 games... He made 11 starts... As a junior,
he posted a 6-1 record with a 3.34 ERA in 14 games on the mound...
Added three complete games and one save against Florida in the SEC
Tournament... Pitched only one inning as a redshirt freshman in 2001. |

Kingrey (1997-98)

One of the Crimson Tide’s most dominant and versatile pitchers...
Member of the 1997 College World Series runner up squad... Pitched for
the 1997 SEC Tournament championship team... Played in two NCAA
Regionals at UA... In his two-year career, Kingrey made 66 appearances
and posted an 18-7 (.720) record with 17 saves and a 2.83 ERA for the
Crimson Tide... In his final season at Alabama (1998), Kingrey forged
an 8-4 record with 13 saves and a 2.47 ERA in 33 appearances... He
also started three games and fired two CGs... On the mound, he worked
83.2 innings and allowed 57 hits, 23 earned runs, 35 walks and a
career-best 98 strikeouts... He led the team in with 33 appearance,
2.47 ERA and 98 strikeouts... Second-Team AA selection by Collegiate
Baseball... Third Team AA selection by the NCBWA... Named to the 1998
ABCA All-South Region team... Second-Team All-SEC pick... SEC
All-Tournament team pick... As a junior, Kingrey appeared in 33 games
and posted a 10-1 record with four saves and a 3.10 ERA... He worked
88.1 innings and allowed 83 hits, 31 earned runs, 38 walks and 76
strikeouts... He led the team with 33 appearances and a 3.10 ERA and
ranked second on the club with 10 wins... Named to the 1997 All-CWS
Team... Most Valuable Player at the 1997 NCAA South II Regional after
posting wins over Troy State and Southern Cal as UA advanced to Omaha
for second straight year... Named to 1997 SEC All-Tournament squad. |

Jonathan
Blankenship (1998-00)

The versatile left-hander posted a 23-11 (.676) career record
on the mound for the Crimson Tide... In his final season (2000),
Blankenship went 6-6 with a 5.66 ERA on the mound... As a sophomore
(1999), Blankenship went 10-3 with a 4.12 ERA, tying the single-season
school record for wins by a sophomore... The 4.12 ERA ranked third on
the UA team... Named SEC Pitcher of the Week (April 26) after he
picked up three wins against South Alabama and Arkansas (two) and did
not allow a run in 10.1 innings on the mound... Posted 1-0 record and
1.08 ERA in two NCAA Regional appearances, including a win in the
title game vs. Southern Miss... Blankenship entered the game in the
seventh inning of a close game and rolled a triple play to propel the
Tide to its third regional title in four years... Posted a 7-2 record
and 5.66 ERA in 22 appearances as a freshman (1998). |

Ames (1996)

In only one season with the Crimson Tide, Ames established
himself as one of the school’s premier closers because of his
dominating slider... In 21 appearances, Ames compiled a 2-1 record
with 11 saves and a 2.36 ERA... He worked 49.2 innings and allowed 36
hits, 13 earned runs, 20 walks and 44 strikeouts... For his efforts,
he was chosen as honorable mention All-American by the Super Smith
Team... Also named to the 1996 ABCA All-South Region Team... Member of
the 1996 SEC Championship team, the first at the school since 1968....
Also member of 1996 SEC Tournament Championship team and NCAA South I
Regional Championship squad... Played in 1996 College World Series,
the first appearance by the Tide since 1983. |
